Weekly Sunday School- 8:45 am
From September through May, there is Sunday School for ages Pre-K- high school. Lessons include instruction on faith, exploring scripture and learning to use the bible, and guidance for daily living. There are also crafts, games, bonding with other youth, and inter-generational activities. All youth are welcome!
Children are invited to come forward to sit in front during the message. Afterward, children ages 3-grade 6 may leave the service to attend Children's Church, a time for deeper exploration into Bible stories. The children rejoin their families towards the end of the service to participate in Holy Communion.
Youth Fellowship Events
Our young people enjoy many activities throughout the year, including:
Easter egg coloring, hunting, and a cookout the week before Easter; swim parties and family activities in the summer, and occasional Friday night movies in the Fellowship Hall during the school year. The group presents a Christmas program for the congregation each year.
Involvement in Worship
Including youth in our worship service is a priority of our congregation. Older youth participate in the worship service each week as part of our procession, candle lighting, serving communion, and other ways!
Vacation Bible School takes place in the evening each summer for a week in either June or July. Children from ages 3-high school and adults are welcome. The theme for 2017 was “Grace, Faith, and Word: A Journey Through the Reformation,” and our youth were delighted in how our building was transformed into a medieval castle courtyard. VBS activities included games, stories, music, crafts, and service projects! Check back in the spring for information about VBS 2018.
